David J. Lynch is a Tony Award-winning producer who brings a unique analytics-driven approach to Broadway, using quantitative insights to elevate modern theater production.
His commercial credits include POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, Parade (2023 Tony Award), Harmony, An Enemy of the People (2024 Tony Nomination), and Romeo and Juliet. Upcoming projects include The Last Five Years and The Queen of Versailles.
A Charleston, South Carolina native, David grew up around the historic Dock Street Theater, where his passion for the arts took root. In his final year there, he launched the Southeast’s first sensory-friendly performances, creating an accessible theater experience for children on the autism spectrum—a program that was awarded the Boeing Vision Award in 2016.
David went on to study at Harvard University, earning a degree in Statistics with a secondary in Theater, Dance, and Media. There, his studies explored the economics of Broadway, examining how statistical models might be used to predict a show’s success. He studied with an inspiring range of professors, from Joe Blitzstein in Statistics to Diane Paulus in Theater.
At Harvard, David was Vice President of The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, leading the casting and oversight of the organization’s first-ever gender-neutral production after more than 170 years as an all-male troupe. His efforts also included raising over $500,000 through major donations and corporate sponsorships. Additionally, as advertisement manager for The Harvard Lampoon, David forged nearly 100 partnerships with brands like Peloton and Netflix.
Since graduating in 2020, David has worked as an associate at Two Sigma, a quantitative hedge fund, and at Link Logistics, a Blackstone portfolio company.
Now based in New York, David continues to shape Broadway with a forward-looking, analytics-backed approach.
